MOMENTUM MOTORSPORTS ADDS NICO DAL MONTE TO F4 UNITED STATES DRIVER LINEUP

Two drivers to race for Momentum Motorsports at Road America and beyond

After a year hiatus from the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda and returning at NOLA Motorsports Park for the first round with one driver, Momentum Motorsports has doubled up on entries for the upcoming race at Road America. With Garrett Dettman scoring the team’s first top-ten result in late March, Dettman will now be joined by rookie driver Nico Dal Monte in the Momentum Motorsports program.

“We are pleased to finally be able to confirm Nico to the Momentum Motorsports family,” expressed Team Owner Phil Picard. “I have known Nico for a while. He has progressed through racing schools and completed test days with other programs in the past. Earlier this week he was able to get behind the wheel of one of our cars at Carolina Motorsports Park and did very well.”

Born in Milan, Italy, and 22 years of age, Dal Monte moved to New Jersey for five years in 2001 and then returned to Italy to complete his academic education. Returning to the United States for college and majoring in Sports Communication and Political Science at the University of Kentucky, Dal Monte was able to compete in the karting ranks before moving to the Lucas Oil School of Racing just three years ago. Gaining experience at the Palm Beach International Raceway and the Sebring International Raceway, Dal Monte obtained his SCCA license in 2021.

“I tested with Momentum Motorsports in March of 2022 before racing in my first event this past summer in Italy,” explained Dal Monte. “The goal was to gain some experience behind the wheel, and it went very well. I did a few more test days with other programs but ultimately chose Momentum Motorsports to make my F4 United States Championship debut.”

Joining Garrett Dettman, Momentum Motorsports will double their chances at the upcoming May 19-21 race weekend at the famed Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Set to battle the 14-corner, 4-mile facility, Dal Monte is hoping that he can overcome his inexperience at one of North America’s most prominent natural terrain road courses and fight for a result at the front of the field.

Dal Monte added, “A huge thank you to Momentum Motorsports, Phil Picard, and everyone who has helped make this possible.”

Next up for Momentum Motorsports is the second event weekend of the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda at the famed Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin in mid-May.
